On Monday, February 15th, the Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee hosted a half-day CLE training titled “Family Law Basics” in conjunction with PILI, the Peoria County Bar Association, Prairie State Legal Services and the Tazewell County Bar Association. Twenty-eight attorneys attended in person and via a live webinar.
Speakers provided general information about family law, as well as training for specific family law volunteer opportunities in the Tenth Judicial Circuit. Family law is one of the highest areas of demand for legal services for low-income individuals and because of this training, dozens more volunteers are now equipped to handle these pro bono matters.
