In December 2019, we launched our theme for the year, “Defining Justice.” We emphasized this theme throughout our virtual Annual Pro Bono Reception. But the work of defining justice is far from over.
Seven volunteers were named to PILI’s inaugural Pro Bono Volunteer Honor Roll, announced and recognized on Thursday, June 18, 2020 during PILI’s virtual Annual Pro Bono Reception.
This helps fund the Pro Bono Initiative Program, including the work of our Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committees.
The DuPage County Bar Association, PILI’s Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and Prairie State Legal Services are joining together to hold an Expungement Clinic on April 25th in Wheaton.
PILI is thrilled to announce that it has received a $15,000 grant from the Illinois Equal Justice Foundation (IEJF) to support PILI’s efforts to provide Self-Help Legal Assistance through several projects.
On August 9th, the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee co-sponsored a Free Legal Answers volunteer program at Tapella & Eberspacher in Charleston.
PILI’s Twentieth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will hold its first meeting on June 26th.
During this half-day event co-sponsored by PILI’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, 22 volunteers served 47 clients. This is the largest number of clients served at the Legal Advice Fair to date.
Attorneys and gathered at Deere & Company in the morning and at Quad City Bank & Trust in the afternoon to answer legal questions on Illinois Legal Aid Online’s Legal Answers website.
As part of a community outreach effort, attorneys of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee are volunteering at local schools to celebrate Law Day.
