PILI Law Student Interns and Graduate Fellows
Each year, PILI places Law Student Interns during the summer and school year and new law school Graduate Fellows during the summer after graduation at affiliated legal aid and public interest law organizations in Chicago. Contact PILI Senior Managing Attorney Brent Page by e-mail or at 312-832-5128 for more information.
Have you ever hesitated in accepting a pro bono matter that you believe would require significant research in order for you to help? Perhaps it is an area of law that you do not regularly practice, or the case includes a complex legal issue, or you’re just short on time. This project matches law students with attorneys in need of research assistance on pro bono legal matters. It is open to private attorneys in addition to non-profits and legal aid organizations in need of research assistance on pro bono and legal aid cases.
PILI Events for Agencies
PILI organizes the following annual programs and events for the public interest law community:
Each year in the fall, PILI gathers pro bono leaders from law firms, corporations, legal service agencies and law schools to have in-depth discussions among a cross-section of the legal profession about how to expand and enhance pro bono in Illinois. We also hold this program in other cities across Illinois through our Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committees.
Each year in the spring, the Legal Service Agency Roundtable brought together representatives from its partner public interest law organizations to share best practices and strategies for success.
PILI issues a monthly e-newsletter with the latest news, upcoming events and spotlights. You can find the latest newsletter, past newsletters and register to receive our e-communications by following the above link.
Directory of Pro Bono Contacts at Illinois Law Firms and Corporations
