This seminar features dedicated public interest law attorneys who will share their experiences in charting a career in public interest law. Panelists will include attorneys who have experience in legal aid and government, and with judicial clerkships and post-graduate fellowships.
The PILI Alumni Network Leadership Council invites you to join PILI at Race Judicata®, a 5K Run/Walk benefiting Chicago Volunteer Legal Services in their mission to ensure that the law works for everyone.
This seminar will address how we can become more aware of our own assumptions, behaviors and impact, especially when we are interacting with people whom we (consciously and unconsciously) see as different from us. Unpacking the concept of implicit and unconscious bias to understand the “mental shortcuts” that we take that impact how we work with and value others is critical to serving legal aid clients with excellence.
Even under the best circumstances, legal aid and pro bono work can be incredibly stressful, challenging, and emotionally taxing, and may lead to secondary trauma. Join us for a fun, interactive, and accessible well-being check-in and education.
The Alumni Network Leadership Council welcomes all 2022 PILI Interns & Fellows to a reception recognizing and celebrating the important work they did this summer to expand the availability of legal services for people, families and communities in need. Advisors will also be invited, and this will be one last scheduled opportunity to connect.
