Four attorneys assisted three clients with legal problems including guardianship, eviction and other landlord/tenant issues.
On November 4th, 12 volunteers from the area assisted 10 clients who had recently received a home from Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Peoria Area.
On October 7th, PILI hosted a Legal Help Within Reach Clinic in Rockford, Illinois. That morning, 11 volunteers from Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago took a bus to the Rockford Mass Transit District to meet with 14 clients to discuss special education needs. Special thanks to Equp for Equality and RA

It was such an easy way to provide pro bono assistance to individuals on my own time. You could do as many or as few questions as you wanted, as often as you wanted, on topics that were of interest, or that aligned with my current practice areas.
On September 11th, the Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee held a summit for members of the judiciary, law firm leaders and other pro bono stakeholders met to discuss how to increase pro bono participation at their firms.
On July 24th, representatives from area law schools met at the offices of Ogletree Deakins for PILI’s annual Law School Pro Bono Roundtable. This year, the group covered several topics related to preparing students for future public interest law and pro bono service.
After establishing this project in Illinois in 2017 and building a solid foundation for its future, ILAO will transition the state administrator role for the site to PILI as of August 1, 2019. At that time, PILI will take over the day-to-day operations of the site including volunteer recruitment, management and training with the help of funding from the IBF.
This year, 48 law firms and corporations were named to the Recognition Roster.
