As part of our 2021 virtual Annual Pro Bono Reception, we celebrated those named to PILI’s Pro Bono Volunteer Honor Roll. Those recognized through our Honor Roll have been chosen by PILI staff for their volunteer contributions through the pro bono opportunities available through PILI’s Pro Bono Program. We are so grateful to these extraordinary volunteers whom we regularly rely on to help individuals, families and communities in need.
On June 16th, as part of our Virtual Annual Pro Bono Reception, PILI will recognize the 47 law firms and corporations named to the 2021 Pro Bono Recognition Roster.
We are excited to announce that the first stop on the Annual Pro Bono Reception’s Virtual Pro Bono Tour will be Springfield to visit Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton! Lieutenant Governor Stratton is a PILI Alum, having done a PILI Internship at Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights. She also leads the Justice, Equity and Opportunity Initiative, including overseeing the Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) program, of which PILI is a grantee. We are excited to have her join us for this event!

As summer nears we are getting excited to welcome our 2021 Law Student Interns and Graduate Fellows. We are also getting ready for our Virtual Annual Pro Bono Reception on June 16th, which will feature a pro bono virtual tour of Illinois and is free for all to attend.
To watch clients in tears, and to be in tears with them, celebrating a professional and personal victory is an unparalleled reminder that this work matters. That it will forever matter. That we have a responsibility, regardless of sector and seniority, to commit some of our time to public service and to aid those who are less privileged than ourselves.
