2L and 3L law students may apply for PILI Internship opportunities at 8 public interest law organizations this spring.
Law students can apply through IllinoisProBono.org.
This is the largest amount of money that PILI has ever committed to Internship funding, and reflects the first increase in PILI’s Intern stipend in 10 years.
This coming fall and spring, PILI will fund 15 Law Student Interns at 10 legal service agencies in Chicago, our largest class of school-year Interns ever.
This year, thirteen Summer Interns hold Named or Honorary Internship positions, created by special funding commitments from individuals and groups dedicated to promoting public interest law.
This year, 44 Law Student Interns and 80 Graduate Fellows will provide legal services for clients at one of PILI’s 56 Participating Agencies.

PILI is looking for Alumni and Board Members to participate in the Intern & Fellow Advising Program this summer. This program matches our summer Interns and Fellows with a member of PILI’s Board of Directors or Alumni Network to give them valuable insights into the Illinois legal community, practice areas, career strategies, or initial networking inroads.
“Because of PILI, I was able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families with children with disabilities, obtain practical experience in education law, and meet accomplished attorneys, judges, and future attorneys.”
