Attorney Volunteer Training – DuPage Expungement Clinic

The DuPage Expungement Clinic will provide free legal assistance to individuals seeking to clear their criminal record. Volunteers will consult with participants on available options for relief, prepare petitions to expunge and/or seal eligible records, and provide guidance on navigating the process from start to finish.

PILI is pleased to partner with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of DuPage County, Prairie State Legal Services, the DuPage County Bar Association, and DuPage Legal Aid on this event. The generous support provided through the Illinois Access to Justice grant program makes PILI and Prairie State’s participation possible.

This training will cover the process of sealing and expungement in Illinois and the procedures for the day of the Expungement Clinic on July 15th.

Speakers:

Stacey McCullough,  Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella, LLC

Brett Cummins, Prairie State Legal Services

Jessica Schneider, Public Interest Law Initiative

Volunteer lawyers are required to attend this training session on sealing and expungement in order to volunteer, unless they handle expungement matters on a regular basis in their practice, or have attended a similar training session recently. Even if that is the case, we still encourage you to attend or watch the recording to learn about the logistics the day of the clinic. This recording is available for those who attend the training live or virtually.
