DuPage Expungement Clinic – Volunteers Needed

This page is for lawyer and legal professionals to register to volunteer. If you are looking to get your own criminal records sealed and/or expunged, click here »

The DuPage Expungement Clinic will provide free legal assistance to individuals seeking to clear their criminal record. Attorney volunteers will consult with participants on available options for relief, prepare petitions to expunge and/or seal eligible records, and provide guidance on navigating the process from start to finish. Other legal professionals are also needed to help support clinic operations. Volunteers can sign up for an 8:30am – 12:00pm shift, an 12:00pm-3:00pm shift, or both. Please register by August 2, 2024.

PILI is pleased to partner with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of DuPage County, Prairie State Legal Services, the DuPage County Bar Association, and DuPage Legal Aid on this event. The generous support provided through the Illinois Access to Justice grant program makes PILI and Prairie State’s participation possible.

Please note:

  • Volunteer lawyers are required to attend a training session in order to volunteer, unless they handle expungement matters on a regular basis in their practice unless you have attended a similar training session recently. Even in that case, you will need to review the procedures for the day of the clinic. The training will take place at the DuPage Judicial Center Attorney Resource Center. The date of the training and more details will be announced soon.
  • A training for other legal professionals volunteers will take place virtually.  You will receive the link to a recording. The duties and logistics for the event will be discussed in more detail.
