DuPage Expungement Clinic – Volunteers Needed

The DuPage Expungement Clinic will provide free legal assistance to individuals seeking to clear their criminal record. Attorney volunteers will consult with participants on available options for relief, prepare petitions to expunge and/or seal eligible records, and provide guidance on navigating the process from start to finish. Volunteers can sign up for an 8:30am – 12:00pm shift, an 12:00pm-3:00pm shift, or both. 

PILI is pleased to partner with the Clerk of the Circuit Court of DuPage County, Prairie State Legal Services and  the DuPage County Bar Association. Funding has been provided by the Illinois Department of Human Services, Office of Welcoming Centers for Refugee and Immigrant Services.

Please note:

• Volunteer lawyers are required to attend a training session in order to volunteer, unless they handle expungement matters on a regular basis in their practice unless you have attended a similar training session recently. Even in that case, you will need to review the procedures for the day of the clinic. The training will take place on Thursday, September 3rd from 12-2 PM at the ARC in the Courthouse.  CLE credit will be provided. 
• Coffee, a light breakfast and lunch will be provided for volunteers the day of the Clinic.
