PILI is looking for Alumni and Board Members to participate in the Intern & Fellow Advising Program this summer. This program matches our summer Interns and Fellows with a member of PILI’s Board of Directors or Alumni Network to give them valuable insights into the Illinois legal community, practice areas, career strategies, or initial networking inroads.
Over $2,000 was raised towards the Alumni Named Internship Campaign so thank you to all those who participated, donated raffle items and bought raffle tickets. And a special thanks to PILI Alum Lisa Clay who was a partial sponsor of the basketball shoot out, and to the Alumni Network Leadership Council for hosting such a great event!
We’re hosting an event for Alumni and friends of PILI! “Because of PILI, I was able to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families with children with disabilities, obtain practical experience in education law, and meet accomplished attorneys, judges, and future attorneys.”
“It felt like I was a part of justice in action and it made me certain that practicing law was not only a privilege, but an honor, a wonderful avocation that could truly affect people’s lives.”
“Rather Stanton, development director and co-founder at Legal Prep, said the community law clinic is “one of the more important things that we do and are doing” for West Garfield Park and nearby neighborhoods.”
“Legal Prep strives to be a cornerstone for positive change in the West Garfield Park community, and we couldn’t be more pleased to partner with PILI, PILI’s Alumni Network Leadership Council, and CVLS to build another bridge between the school and the community,” says Rather Stanton, Legal Prep’s Development Director & Co-Founder.
Reena Bajowala, who was a PILI Intern and a PILI Fellow and currently serves on PILI’s Board of Directors, has been named a 2015 recipient of Womenetics’ POW! Awards, honoring women who demonstrate business leadership and community impact.
PILI’s Executive Director, Michael Bergmann, will be in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 4 and will be hosting a Happy Hour for DC-area PILI Alumni and friends. We hope you will join Michael and fellow Alumni to network with one another and to learn about what’s new with PILI!
