Sixth Judicial Circuit Self-Represented Litigant Help Desks
During a 2-hour shift, volunteers meet with self-represented litigants in an entirely virtual format for 30-minute appointments to help them understand and navigate the legal process, fill out forms and answer questions.
Both the Champaign and Macon County help desks have switched to an entirely virtual format, combining them to be the "Sixth Circuit Help Desk." Volunteers will meet with clients on zoom and send/receive all intake and closure paperwork online. Because the help desk operates via Zoom, volunteers can participate from their home or office.
We ask that any new volunteers first fill out PILI's Pro Bono Volunteer Registration form. Once registered, use the link below to sign up for upcoming help desk shifts.
We have compiled a variety of resources and forms for volunteers to use at the Help Desks. A password is required to access this page. If you are a help desk volunteer, contact PILI Managing Attorney Abigail Causer by email or at 217-693-6017 for the password. View volunteer resources »
