Join the PILI and the ISBA for Law Day 2022! To celebrate Law Day, PILI is partnering with the Illinois State Bar Association to offer a free virtual CLE program and a virtual clinic to answer civil legal questions from people in need across Illinois.
Illinois Free Legal Answers is a secure website where low-income Illinoisans can ask a lawyer for help with a civil legal issue. Volunteer lawyers then log onto the site at their convenience and answer questions waiting in the queue. It is a virtual walk-in legal clinic. A project of the American Bar Association, Free Legal Answers was created to increase access to advice and information about non-criminal legal matters for those who cannot afford legal assistance.
Free CLE: Monday, May 2nd, 11:30 to 12:00 p.m.
Attend this optional CLE to learn more about unmet legal needs in Illinois and how Illinois Free Legal Answers can help meet those needs. Attendees will learn how to use the site and earn 0.5 hour of MCLE Professional Responsibility credit.
Virtual Drop-In Clinic: Monday, May 2nd, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Log on any time for technical assistance and for help answering questions. PILI staff will be on hand to help for the entire day. There will also be an “ISBA Break Room” especially for ISBA members to meet up and network.
Already an Illinois Free Legal Answers volunteer? Log in at any time to answer questions waiting in the queue. Even one answer can make a difference!
Not an ISBA member? No problem! All are welcome to join us for the CLE and clinic.
