The Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, in partnership with PILI, will host a short workshop for law student and attorney teams to work together to answer questions posed through Illinois Free Legal Answers, a secure website where low-income Illinoisans can ask a lawyer for help with a civil legal issue. All volunteers will receive a brief training, then volunteer attorneys will work with law students to log onto the site and answer questions waiting in the queue.
Volunteer interaction with clients is asynchronous, and attorney experts will be on hand to help answer questions and provide expertise in a variety of areas of law, including but not limited to housing law, family law, disability rights, and employment law. This is a discrete pro bono opportunity, and there is no follow-up work required after the workshop. Snacks will be provided.
