This program is for members of PILI’s Board of Directors, Young Professionals Board and Alumni Network Leadership Council as well as the chairs of our Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committees.
This panel discussion will explore the evolving legal landscape surrounding Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) efforts, including how the current administration’s approach to Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion may impact the public interest law community. Can PILI and other organizations support Inclusion while complying with the law? Panelists will examine the legal framework impacting JEDI work and how it relates to PILI’s mission and the broader public interest law community. Through a dynamic conversation, attendees may gain insights into tangible steps they may take (or avoid) to legally support and drive JEDI initiatives at and through PILI, the larger public interest law community, and your local communities.
Panelists:
- Michael Cramer of Ogletree Deakins, PILI DEI Officer
- Donyelle Gray of the Office of the Cook County State’s Attorney, PILI Board Member
- Kimberly Mills of the Office of the Cook County Public Defender, Vice Chair of PILI Alumni Network Leadership Council
