Four attorneys assisted three clients with legal problems including guardianship, eviction and other landlord/tenant issues.
On November 4th, 12 volunteers from the area assisted 10 clients who had recently received a home from Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Peoria Area.
It’s been a very easy going experience volunteering for PILI. And the clients need help, so to me, volunteering for this organization is a no-brainer.

On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being “very poor” and 5 being “very good,” Interns rated the program a 4.8 overall.100% of Interns who responded said they would recommend the Law Student Internship program to others.

On Saturday, October 19th, volunteer attorneys in Springfield filed requests to expunge/seal criminal records for 125 cases at the Sangamon County Expungement Summit.
If every lawyer in our community took on a small volunteer opportunity here or there during the year, we would see a much more efficient legal system.
On October 7th, PILI hosted a Legal Help Within Reach Clinic in Rockford, Illinois. That morning, 11 volunteers from Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago took a bus to the Rockford Mass Transit District to meet with 14 clients to discuss special education needs. Special thanks to Equp for Equality and RA
