The Village Legal and Community Project

Our mission is to empower the members of our communities.  We are a community-based organization providing pro bono legal services and programming addressing economic development and life readiness.

Our vision is to create communities where people have access to justice, our youth reach high levels of achievement, and our entrepreneurs receive the tools they need to launch and grow strong businesses.  This emphasis on access to legal representation, education and economic development helps to create opportunities and stability in our neighborhoods.

The Village Legal and Community Project (“TVLCP”) provides pro bono civil legal services to underserved and overlooked communities. Our focus is on landlord/tenant, sealing and expungement, parenting time, child support, driver’s license reinstatement and other civil matters.

PILI Fellows will work closely with staff attorneys in all practice areas. Fellows will: conduct intakes, perform legal research, draft client communications, memos and pleadings, participate in walk-in legal clinics and  outreach events and have the opportunity to observe court and administrative hearings.

PILI Fellows may also have the opportunity to work with pro bono small business clients on entity formation, drafting governance documents and contracts as well as commercial leases.

A 711-law license is required.

This agency is approved to host Graduate Fellows.
