The James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy (“Moran Center”) provides integrated legal and social work services to low-income Evanston youth and their families to improve their quality of life at home, at school, and within the community. Our holistic practice focuses on juvenile delinquency, criminal (up to age 26), expungement/sealing, educational, and general civil (through our school-based civil legal clinic) matters.
PILI Fellows will work closely with staff attorneys in all practice areas. Fellows will provide general case management, conduct legal research, draft motions/mitigation reports/complaints/briefs, and will have the opportunity to participate in trials/administrative hearings. Fellows will also regularly assist staff at our Expungement & Sealing Help Desk at the Skokie Courthouse and may be asked to assist with community trainings on legal rights/responsibilities. A 711 law license is required.
This agency is approved to host Graduate Fellows.
