Volunteers Needed in the Third, Sixth & Tenth Judicial Circuits

PILI provides a variety of pro bono opportunities for lawyers, law students and legal professionals across the state of Illinois. Some of these opportunities are offered through our Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committees. As we kick off 2022, we are spotlighting of few of these opportunities for which we are actively seeking pro bono volunteers at this time.

Third Judicial Circuit

Through its Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, PILI is launching and is currently seeking volunteers for its Conflict of Interest Pro Bono Referral Panel. This project provides a referral source for Land of Lincoln Legal Aid to send potential clients in Bond and Madison Counties who have been denied service due to a conflict of interest. A potential client is only eligible for referral to the program if they have been denied services by Land of Lincoln due to a conflict and the potential client has been referred to the program. Once PILI has approved the case, we will try to place it with a local pro bono attorney in the Third Circuit to provide some level of pro bono assistance from brief advice to full representation. This project is made possible thanks to funding through the Illinois Access to Justice grant program.
