He first become involved with PILI through the Pro Bono Initiative Program and joined the Board in 2007. His term as Board President will be from September 2016 to August 2018.
“It is a pleasure to help provide a platform for aspiring attorneys to have meaningful work experience with the best legal aid and public interest organization in the state,” said Brad.
In addition to serving on PILI’s Board, Brad also regularly takes on pro bono cases, working on landlord-tenant disputes, expungement motions and hearings, and immigration-related matters. He has also worked on veteran benefit appeals, special education matters, and counseled on trademark issues. Last year, Brinks adopted a night at PILI’s Legal Prep Community Law Clinic, and Brad helped coordinate that effort as well as volunteer at the Clinic.
As PILI’s Board President, Brad will help PILI work to achieve the ambitious goals outlined in the current Long Range Plan, including growing the Internship Program by 15 percent, raising the Intern stipend for the first time in 10 years, and celebrating PILI’s 40th Anniversary in 2017.
“There is such a great need in our state to provide legal services to those of limited means,” said Brad. “PILI can help attorneys answer the call to make a difference in their communities.”
