Volunteers Needed – Veterans Wills and Power of Attorney Clinic

The Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, and the Madison County Bar Association are hosting a clinic to provide veterans, active duty military, and their spouses with free wills and POAs. Sign up and help veterans and their families with advance directives. No experience in wills drafting necessary, training will be provided. The event will be held November 10th at the Madison County Administration Building Board Room with volunteers present from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

No prior experience in wills is necessary. Volunteer lawyers are required to attend a training session in order to volunteer, unless they handle Wills and POA matters on a regular basis in their practice. Even in that case, you will need to review the procedures for the day of the clinic.

The CLE training will be held virtually on November 1st from 12-2 PM, which will also be recorded for later viewing. Attendees will earn 2 hours of Illinois MCLE credit for the training. Advance registration is required using the form below to receive the Zoom information.
