PILI Virtual Pro Bono CLE Series – Understanding the New Source of Income Protection: Illinois Fair Housing Update

On January 1st,  an Illinois law went into effect preventing housing discrimination based on an individual’s participation in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. Source of income is now a protected characteristic under the Illinois Human Rights Act. Find out what you need to know about the law and the need for pro bono attorneys to protect tenants’ rights under the law.
