PILI organizes an educational seminar each semester for school-year PILI Interns that focuses on substantive legal topics, career development strategies or skill building relevant to public interest law. Interns are expected to attend, and attendance counts towards your 200-hour requirement.
Communicating Complex Ideas Clearly
For public interest lawyers, a key skill is being able to help clients understand complex legal issues. From ‘Know Your Rights’ trainings to direct conversations with clients, hear about the skills and tactics that public interest professionals use to communicate in an effective and legible manner.
