Protecting the Rights of Military Veterans and Service Members

Margaret Kuzma, Staff Attorney, Skadden Fellow at LAF Chicago’s Veterans’ Rights Project will discuss many legal areas impacting Military Veterans and current Service Members.  Topics include benefits, protections for Service Members and their dependents, and military sexual trauma.

LAF’s Veterans’ Rights Project is dedicated to ensuring that low-income service members, veterans, and their dependents receive advocacy and educational services regarding the enforcement of their legal rights and benefits. LAF has the unique ability to provide comprehensive legal assistance for veterans with multiple legal problems. In 2013, LAF provided legal services to over 800 current service members, veterans, and their families.

Lunch will be provided for everyone in attendance. Registration is required for all PILI educational seminars. Registration is now closed.

For those serving in an Internship or Fellowship outside of Chicago, or for those who are unable to attend, PILI will webcast this seminar through IllinoisProBono.org and maintains an online archive of past seminars.
