Spring Intern Seminar: Impactful Post-Graduate Fellowships

PILI organizes an educational seminar each semester for school-year PILI Interns that focuses on substantive legal topics, career development strategies or skill building relevant to public interest law. Attendance counts towards your 200 hour requirement.

Attendees at this session will hear from an Equal Justice Works Fellow whose project centers on the implementation of state-funded healthcare coverage, advocacy for further coverage and policy reform, and community outreach and education. Attendees will also hear from a Skadden Fellow who provides direct representation to address the long-term and collateral consequences of guardianship for adults with disabilities in Illinois.  Both speakers will also share insights on the application process for their respective post-graduate fellowship program.

SPEAKER:

  • Nicole Carmargo Almeida, Equal Justice Works Fellow at Legal Action Chicago
  • Kaitlynn Milvert, Skadden Fellow at Equip for Equality
