After they served our country, veterans should have access to quality healthcare and services. Even so, many lose out on their benefits because the process for applying is so difficult. Volunteer attorneys can help veterans apply for their medical and military records for the VA disability claims and appeals at this upcoming free legal clinic.
This program is co-sponsored by HeplerBroom LLC and the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee.
A training session will be held on January 29th from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Madison County Courthouse. 1.0 hour of CLE credit will be provided, subject to approval.
If you would like to receive legal help at this clinic, please contact Shelby Smith at 1-833-275-7457 to set up an appointment. Clients must meet eligibility requirements.
Volunteers are required to register to volunteer at this clinic by Monday, February 10th. If you have any questions or problems with registration, please email PILI or call us at 312-832-5136.
Through Legal Help Within Reach, PILI recruits attorney and law student volunteers from urban areas to volunteer at free legal clinics for low-income Illinoisans living in rural and underserved communities. These clinics will provide much needed and otherwise inaccessible legal assistance to low-income people, families and communities in need.
