Leading Change: Transforming Commitment to Action
Diversity and inclusion committees, programs, events, and trainings can be strong, but the foundation of an organization’s D&I efforts lies in the leadership skills of people who are driving these efforts. Leading inclusiveness is different from managing it or supporting it or even implementing it. This program will explore the skills and tools that leaders need in order to lead. Dr. Arin N. Reeves will help attendees understand how leaders can lead their organizations on diversity and inclusiveness.
This workshop will include strategies on how to facilitate conversations internally with PILI Interns and Fellows as well as other constituents, ensuring that JED&I (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) is incorporated into every meeting and program through committed behavior and skill sets. Prior to this program we will conduct a survey to better understand what DE&I trainings you have been to in the past, what you learned in those sessions, what you felt was missing in those sessions, and ultimately what behaviors did or did not change due to the previous trainings. Dr. Reeves will then use those results to guide her in the development of this session.
This program is being offered virtually and all PILI leadership are strongly encouraged to attend. Advance registration is required and 1.5 hours of Illinois MCLE credit will be provided. Register below to attend the September 14th session. The same program is also being offered on Friday, September 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Though we hope all of PILI’s leadership can attend one of the live video training sessions, it will be recorded and you can alternatively register to view it on your own. CLE credit will still be available for watching the recording.
