Don’t miss this opportunity to develop your expertise and put your knowledge to work for people in need. This free program is designed for attorneys who want to learn the basics of estate planning, family law, and the guardianship process.
Topics include:
- How to draft a simple will;
- The primary advance directive forms provided by statute in the State of Illinois;
- How to proceed when client competency concerns are raised;
- How your pro bono work helps expand access to justice in our communities;
- The basics of guardianship law and how it protects minors and the disabled;
- How to provide limited representation without being involved for the entire case;
- The Illinois divorce process for pro bono attorneys;
- The basics for establishing parentage in Illinois; and
- The ethical issues to be aware of when undertaking a pro bono case.
In exchange for the commitment to handle just one pro bono case, attendees receive free training and 6.25 hours of MCLE credit, including 2.25 hours of Professional Responsibility credit.
