The First Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will host this CLE program as part of the Pro Bono Week celebration to increase awareness about the need for pro bono legal services and how volunteers can help in the First Judicial Circuit. The Committee will also celebrate those who have performed pro bono work over the last year.
The speakers will discuss numerous issues that further the importance of expanding pro bono work within the community, including poverty, malpractice coverage and virtual limitations from their diverse perspectives.
- Judge Amanda Gott is a Circuit Judge in the First Judicial Circuit, in Williamson County, Illinois. She previously practiced both civil and criminal litigation.
- Eugenia Hunter is a private attorney in Carbondale, Illinois with over 40 years of experience in both civil and criminal law.
- Legal Aid providers will discuss the wide variety of pro bono opportunities, including limited scope and virtual, at their organizations along with information about resources provided to their volunteers.
