PILI and the Illinois Armed Forces Legal Aid Network (IL-AFLAN) are hosting this training to prepare pro bono attorneys to handle veterans’ discharge upgrade cases.
Veterans may seek discharge upgrades if they unfairly received less than an honorable discharge from their service. Discharge records can impact the types of benefits veterans are eligible for and a successful appeal can make a tremendous impact on their lives. After this training, attorneys should feel confident handling discharge upgrade cases.
