About the 2026 Event
The Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will host this event to commemorate Pro Bono Week, recognize the commitment of local pro bono volunteers and to celebrate the Pro Bono Service Award Recipients.
This event will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Mattoon Country Club. Ticket sales for this event are available, and the ticket price covers the cost of drinks and appetizers. Special thanks to Huber & Mudd, LLC for co-sponsoring this year’s event. Illinois Supreme Court David K. Overstreet will be our special guest speaker at the event.

About the 2025 Award Recipient
Paul E. Wieck was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1981 and the Illinois Bar in 1982, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1978 and the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1981. Paul has been a two-term President of the Clark County Bar Association and has been Treasurer of that Association since 1998, is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and member of the Sections on General Practice and Family Law. Paul has had a careerlong commitment to pro bono and service, but he was specifically nominated this year for his work helping to organize the inaugural Coles County Expungement and Sealing Clinic and pro bono leadership with the Coles County Illinois Free Legal Answers Clinic.
