Charleston Legal Answers Pro Bono Clinic

In celebration of Law Day, attorneys will be trained on how to answer civil legal questions posted on Illinois Legal Aid Online’s Legal Answers website.

This program is co-sponsored by the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, American Bar Association, Coles-Cumberland Bar Association, Illinois Legal Aid Online and Illinois State Bar Association.

What is Legal Answers? Legal Answers is a secure website ( where lower income Illinois residents can ask a lawyer for help with a legal issue. Qualified users post questions about civil legal problems. Volunteer lawyers then log onto the site and select questions to answer. It’s like a virtual walk-in legal clinic.

How the Legal Answers Clinic will work:

  • Before the event, volunteers register with
  • At the event, volunteers will be trained on how to answer Legal Answers questions.
  • Lawyers will answer as many questions as they are able at the event and then will be able to answer many more whenever they want.
