First Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Week Celebration: Illinois Free Legal Answers Clinic

About this Event

Join the First Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and celebrate Pro Bono Week by getting together with other attorneys and law students to do pro bono on Illinois Free Legal Answers. A project of the American Bar Association, Illinois Free Legal Answers is a secure website where low-income Illinoisans can ask a lawyer for help with a civil legal issue. Volunteer lawyers then log onto the site at their convenience and answer questions waiting in the queue. It is a virtual walk-in legal clinic.

On the day of the clinic, we will start with a short training on the platform and CLE over lunch and then break into small groups to answer questions on Illinois Free Legal Answers. Please note, law students cannot register as volunteers on Illinois Free Legal Answers and will work with licensed attorneys to draft answers at the clinic. Because of this, space for student registrations at the event will be limited to ensure students have a meaningful experience. 0.5 hours of Professional Responsibility CLE credit is anticipated. Advance registration is required using the form below.

If you have any questions about this event, please contact PILI Managing Attorney Abigail Causer at 217-693-6017 or by email.
