The Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will host this event to commemorate Pro Bono Week, recognize the commitment of local pro bono volunteers and celebrate the Pro Bono Service Award recipient.

About the 2025 Award Recipient
David Clark has long been a driving force for pro bono service in DuPage County and beyond and serves on the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee. He founded the DuPage County Bar Association’s Ask a Lawyer program in 2015 and has remained instrumental in its success, creating a walk-in clinic at the DuPage County Judicial Center that continues to connect countless Self-Represented litigants with vital legal guidance. While that program closed during the pandemic, he continued to find other ways to do pro bono, including through the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit’s Eviction Task Force, developing the mediation program to help those facing the possibility of eviction. Afterwards, he was instrumental in bringing the Help Desks back to the courthouse. Over the past year, he has contributed many hours of pro bono service, including through Illinois Free Legal Answers and volunteering at the DuPage County Expungement Clinic as well as other initiatives. David also volunteers with Administer Justice and has been recognized for his outstanding service, receiving the U.S. District Court Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service in 2012 and being named the DCBA Lawyer of the Year in 2018. A past and present leader on numerous bar association committees, David is known not only for his dedicated volunteerism but also for his generosity behind the scenes by inspiring colleagues, helping countless clients and strengthening the pro bono culture throughout the community.
