PILI’s thousands of Alumni span the country, and even the globe. Alumni outside of the Chicago area can stay connected to PILI and be a part of our network of public interest lawyers who are making a difference for people in need.
Help us connect with future PILIs:
We receive hundreds of applications from dozens of law schools across the country for our Internship and Fellowship Programs. As a PILI Alum, you can help spread the word about PILI to your alma mater, or to other law schools in your area. You can share information and brochures, represent PILI at career fairs, or offer to do a presentation about your own Internship or Fellowship. Talk to us if you’re interested in this option.
Suggest a spotlight or make a nomination:
Do you know any PILI Alumni doing amazing pro bono or public interest work? Or, are you a PILI Alum doing amazing pro bono or public interest work? Let us know about it! We give two awards to outstanding PILI Alumni every year at our Annual Awards Luncheon. We also regularly make nominations for other local and national awards, and we publish our own Alumni Spotlights to showcase the life-changing work our Alumni are doing. We’d love to hear from you about PILI Alumni you think are worthy of recognition. Let us know who you think we should spotlight or nominate next!
Sign up or follow along:
PILI sends out a monthly newsletter that includes news, updates and spotlights of PILI Alumni, PILI board members and local pro bono programs. Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media for news about PILI’s programs and updates from other PILI Alumni. We’re on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Show your PILI pride:
Update your work bio or your LinkedIn profile to reflect that you’re a PILI Alum. This not only helps raise PILI’s profile, but it can help you connect to other PILI Alumni you didn’t even know were in your circles, and to other public interest-minded attorneys who also care about expanding civil legal aid.
Support the cause:
Donations from PILI Alumni directly support future PILI Intern stipends, helping ensure that more law students and new lawyers will have the same opportunity you had to participate in PILI’s Internship and Fellowship Programs. PILI currently raises enough money from Alumni to fully fund two Interns every summer. You can be a part of this too by making a donation today.
Keep up the good work!
PILI’s mission is to cultivate a lifelong commitment to public interest law and pro bono service in the Illinois legal community to expand the availability of legal services for people, families and communities in need. If you’re using your law degree to lend a hand, then you are living the mission. Thank you for your service and for your commitment to making the world a better place!
