Legal Prep Community Law Clinic

This is a community-based clinic at Legal Prep Charter Academy in the Garfield Park neighborhood that is staffed by PILI Alumni. PILI’s Alumni Network hosts the clinic monthly in conjunction with Legal Prep Charter Academies and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS). The clinic is usually held on the first Tuesday of the month, and runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

With the support of CVLS staff, PILI Alumni volunteers provide pro bono services on all civil, non-fee generating, non-class action cases. Types of cases might include eviction, consumer debt, foreclosure, adult or child guardianship, and more. As the clinic administrator, CVLS has extensive resources to help PILI volunteers get started quickly and develop deeper skills through continued use. CVLS will provide volunteers with trainings, forms, malpractice coverage, and ongoing volunteer support.

If your firm or corporation is interested in adopting a night of the clinic, or if you would like to volunteer, please contact Brent Page.
