During a 2-hour shift, volunteers meet with self-represented litigants at the Champaign & Macon County Courthouses for 30-minute appointments to help them understand and navigate the legal process, fill out forms and answer questions.
The help desk in Champaign County is held at the Self-Help Center on the first floor of the courthouse. Locally, it is known as the “Ask-A-Lawyer Desk” and is held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month. View 2019 Champaign County Help Desk Dates »
The help desk in Macon County is held in the Self-Help Center at the courthouse from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. twice each month on select Mondays and Wednesdays.
