PILI is grateful to the LAGBAC Foundation for increasing their grant to PILI to $6,000. Support from the LAGBAC Foundation funds two school-year Interns, one in the spring and one in the fall, at the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) in their LGBT Immigrant Rights Initiative.
PILI’s Board of Directors recently voted to increase the Internship stipend for all Interns by $500. This means that school-year Internship stipends are now $3,000. LAGBAC’s grant reflects this increase and we are grateful for their support, as the work these Interns do is incredibly important.
“The support we receive through PILI’s Law Student Internship Program helps NIJC serve more immigrants refugees/asylees, and asylum seekers,” said the Intern Supervisor at NIJC. “The LGBT Immigrant Rights Initiative, the smallest of NIJC’s projects, could not sustain our work without the help of interns year-round, who are not only dedicated to the advancement of immigrant rights, but that of our LGBT community as well.”
Thank you to the LAGBAC Foundation for continuing to make these Internship positions possible.
