Lawyers and law students will be trained on how to answer questions in family & housing law posted on Illinois Legal Aid Online’s Legal Answers website. They will then work to help them research and draft responses.
This session will provide the background on limited scope representation and the changes to the Rules of Professional Conduct that have been made to permit limited scope representation. Attendees will hear specific examples of how limited scope representation can be used in both their private and pro bono practice to ensure greater access to justice for all.
Join a cross-section of pro bono stakeholders from the Twentieth Judicial Circuit to discuss poverty in Illinois and how it relates to unmet legal needs, how pro bono is a key element in meeting those needs as well as other timely pro bono issues and share pro bono best practices.
