2019 Award Recipients
Pro Bono Service Award: Dave Fahrenkamp
Dave Fahrenkamp is a family law and criminal defense attorney with a passion for pro bono. He volunteers at the Self Help Center, takes on pro bono clients and also assists other attorneys with their pro bono cases. This year, he coordinated a well-attended CLE at no cost to public defenders and the law enforcement community on forensics. While his formal contributions to pro bono are worthy of an award, it is his spirit and good will that led his colleagues to nominate him. He is always someone who goes above and beyond to help and serve others.
Rising Pro Bono Star Award: Rebecca Hausman
Attorney Rebecca Hausman is an associate at Simmons Hanly Conroy where she focuses her practice on helping individuals and families impacted by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. Rebecca takes on her own pro bono practice and encourages service in others. She serves on the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee and recently helped organize a Free Legal Answers Clinic at her firm. Rebecca’s dedication to service has earned her the Rising Pro Bono Star Award.
