The Sixth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee offers this CLE to commemorate Pro Bono Week and recognize the efforts of Pro Bono Pledge Signatories and the Community Legal Services Award Recipients to expand and enhance access to justice in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.

Community Legal Services Award Recipient

Cristina M. Manuel of Manuel & Associates

Cristina is a fixture of the annual Expungement Summits in Champaign County as well as Bloomington & Springfield, helping clients to clear their criminal records. She is also a dedicated volunteer at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, handling, family law, guardianship and bankruptcy cases. Her dedication to service and her reputation for keeping her clients’ best interests in mind have earned her this award.

CLE: Assisting Elderly Clients & Their Families

The panel discussion will cover several issues related to this topic including Medicaid, long-term care planning, estate planning and special needs trusts. Speakers will provide examples of client situations and frequently encountered issues working with an elder client population. Interested attendees who attend the CLE will then be provided with information on how to get connected with pro bono matters in this area.

1.0 hour of CLE credit has been requested. Attendees will be charged $17, which can be paid by cash or a check made out to the Champaign County Bar Association.
