Legal Help Within Reach Clinic: Wills and Powers of Attorney

Volunteers are needed for the first Legal Help Within Reach Wills and Powers of Attorney Legal Clinic. Through this clinic, attorneys from the Quad Cities area will travel to Sterling, Illinois to provide critical estate planning services to low-income seniors through a discrete pro bono opportunity.

PILI will provide transportation from from Rock Island to Sterling, Illinois. There will be a CLE training in Deere’s West Office Building on Friday, March 29th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a refresher on the bus on the way to the clinic. Lunch will be served the day of the clinic.

Clinic Agenda

11:00 a.m. – Meet at Deere & Company Headquarters.

11:30 a.m.  – Leave Deere & Company on bus and receive refresher training and lunch.

1:00-5:00 p.m. – Meet with clients to help prepare wills and powers of attorney. You will not be taking cases or representing clients in court.

6:00 p.m. – Arrive back at Deere & Company.

Through Legal Help Within Reach, PILI recruits attorney and law student volunteers from urban areas to volunteer at free legal clinics for low-income Illinoisans living in rural and underserved communities. These clinics will provide much needed and otherwise inaccessible legal assistance to low-income people, families and communities in need.
