Public Interest Law Initiative

Legal Answers Pro Bono Clinic – Charleston

Attorneys will be trained on how to answer family & housing law questions posted on Illinois Legal Aid Online’s Legal Answers website. Following the training, attorneys will then answer open questions on the site. From 5:00 to 6:00, there will be a complimentary networking reception with drinks and light appetizers for all participants.

This program is co-sponsored by the Fifth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, Illinois Legal Aid Online, and the American Bar Association.

What is Legal Answers? Legal Answers is a secure website ( where lower-income Illinois residents can ask a lawyer for help with a legal issue. Qualified users post questions about civil legal problems. Volunteer lawyers then log onto the site and select questions to answer. It’s like a virtual walk-in legal clinic.
