On Tuesday, August 9th, Latham & Watkins adopted the Legal Prep Community Law Clinic. Eight attorneys spent the evening volunteering with five low-income clients with legal needs.
Paul Vaglica, a PILI Alumni Class Representative and associate at Latham, helped to organize his firm’s adoption of the clinic. He was joined by PILI Board Member and Alum David Callahan, PILI Alumni Network Leadership Council 2015 Fellow Representative Brian Davis, PILI Alum Catherine Sullivan and other Latham attorneys.
Clients sought assistance with the adult guardianship process for disabled adults, contract and warranty disputes, and unfair and deceptive sales practices.
The Alumni Network Leadership Council hosts this clinic on the second Tuesday of every month, and Chicago Volunteer Legal Services refers local clients to meet with attorneys at the clinic.
Law firms with PILI Alumni can adopt an evening of the clinic. If your firm is interested, please contact Executive Director Michael Bergmann by email or by phone at 312-832-5129.
