PILI envisions a legal community with a deeply rooted culture of service, where law students, lawyers and legal professionals at all stages of their careers engage in public interest law or pro bono work, and remain committed to addressing the unmet legal needs of the poor and underrepresented.
New At PILI
At its meeting on July 24, 2014, the PILI Board of Directors elected several new directors to its board. Those elected to serve included Karina Ayala-Bermejo of Metropolitan Family Services, Traci Braun of Exelon Corporation and Jonathan Jennings of Pattishall, McAuliffe, Newbury, Hilliard & Geraldson LLP. Understanding the mounting legal needs of Illinois’ poor and underrepresented, and realizing the critical role that law firms and corporations play in meeting that need through pro bono legal assistance, PILI seeks to celebrate the noteworthy pro bono contributions of law firms and corporations throughout the state of Illinois through our Pro Bono Recognition Roster.
